Commune d’Ettelbruck
The Challenge
A modern commune website must serve multiple audiences with very different needs.
Residents look for administrative services, regulations, documents and local updates.
Visitors search for events, points of interest, cultural highlights and tourism information.
The challenge was to design a structured multisite platform where:
- One environment is dedicated to citizens
- Another is oriented toward visitors
- Both share a coherent identity
- Each has its own navigation and content logic
- All content is managed within a single CMS instance
In addition, the commune required a fully manageable interactive map displaying all local points of interest — including custom coordinates and categorisation.
The platform also had to meet modern accessibility standards while maintaining a contemporary design language.
The Approach
We began by analysing user groups and defining two distinct yet interconnected digital environments:
- A structured, service-oriented section for citizens
- An informative and visually engaging section for visitors
The multisite architecture was designed to ensure:
- Clear separation of content structures
- Independent navigation systems
- Shared backend infrastructure
- Centralised content governance
Special attention was given to accessibility, ensuring that design, structure and development comply with modern standards.
For the interactive map, we implemented a custom solution allowing the commune to manage:
- Points of interest
- Map coordinates
- Categories
- Associated content
All directly from the CMS.
The Solution
The final platform includes:
- A multisite architecture for citizens and visitors
- A robust CMS with structured content management
- A fully manageable interactive POI map
- A custom API integration
- A responsive and accessibility-focused design
The system was built to support long-term administrative needs and future evolution.
The Result
The Commune d’Ettelbruck now operates a structured and future-proof digital platform serving both residents and visitors with clarity and efficiency.
Behind the scenes, the multisite architecture enables centralised management while maintaining distinct user journeys.
For more than five years, we have continued to support, maintain and evolve the platform — adapting it to new requirements and ensuring long-term stability.
The project reflects our ability to handle complex public-sector environments while delivering structured and accessible digital solutions.
